Getting over the fear of Video Marketing could be the hardest part about getting started. And once your over the fear, it become easy. But then you run into mistakes that just about everyone has to go through.
I want to show you 4 mistakes you can avoid when starting your video marketing efforts.
1. Not Having A Good Title
Your title needs to do two things. One is to have the keyword your trying to rank for. And two, it needs to have a benefit.
The title needs to grab peoples attention, and draw them in to watch the video. Video Marketing is about getting people to watch your video, and clicking on the link in your description. So if no one is watching the video, then your not going to get any traffic.
2. Not Finding the Right Keyword
Getting your video up can the easy part. It’s getting people to find it and watch it. Youtube has billions of videos uploaded. This makes it very difficult for anyone to find you unless your targeting a specific keyword.
The keyword should be searched using the google keyword tool. Find a keyword that has low competition, and make your video around that keyword. Place the keyword in the tags field, along with 2-3 other keywords.
3. No Call To Action
One of the biggest mistakes I see, is not telling people what do to in the video. You should tell people to click the link below the video when their done. If you give away high valued content, then it’s only fair you ask someone to click the link.
The url to your website needs to be in the description. Place it on top before any text so people can click on it easily. Under your website give 2-3 paragraphs about the video, and insert the keyword.
4. Not Marketing the Video
Just because you uploaded your video does not mean people will instantly come watching. One mistake, is not going out and marketing your video. Use onlywire or ping.fm to promote your video link. These sites will submit your video link to 50+ different social sites. This gives you instant backlinks. With these backlinks google will think your video is popular, and start to rank you higher in the search results.
